Steelhead Angler Feedback Survey

All information gathered will be used to improve and enhance the fishery. Pennsylvania stocks the most Steelhead (Lake Run Rainbow Trout) of all the states that border Lake Erie. This is about the fishery and how it is performing. We wholeheartedly would appreciate candid feedback regarding this survey.

Please share information about your fishing outings--including the days you do not land a fish.

Please complete a survey for each stream you fish.  With one million Steelhead stocked annually, we would like to better understand how anglers feel the fishing experience is. This data will not be used for anything other than enhancing and preserving the fishery. We will NOT take your spots! Help us to help you.

History of the Angler Survey:

August, 2021, three PA Steelhead Association members met with the incubator lab at PennState to discus the creation of a phone app. The app would track angler feedback and serve as an electronic creel survey; though, many Steelhead anglers are catch and release. Ultimately, it was decided to utilize a Google platform known as Forms. All Google products are free, offer free storage up to a certain point, and can be edited in real time. 

November, 2021, the Angler Survey via Google Forms was launched publicly.

December, 2021, hundreds of surveys were completed by anglers.

January, 2022, the Angler Survey was revised & updated to better present the data in spreadsheet format.

May 1, 2022 Survey is closed for the summer. It will re-open September 1, 2022.
